Winter hikes bring a special kind of magic, with snow-covered trails and crisp, chilly air making for an enchanting outdoor experience. What better way to elevate your winter adventure than by bringing along a delightful charcuterie board? Picture this: a scenic trail, a cozy blanket of snow, and a spread of delicious bites to savor. Let's explore how to curate the ultimate charcuterie board for your winter hike, blending the joys of the great outdoors with the pleasures of gourmet snacking.

What you need for your Charcuterie Board:

· Your favorite cheese

· A wine inspired meat such as smoked sausage, cured ham or salami to name a few

· Seasonal fruits or dried fruit

· Crunchy crackers or and crispy bread

· Spreads and condiments

· Nuts

· Hot and or cold beverage (I personally like to bring hot chocolate or a fun wine to enjoy once we’ve made it to the main destination of the hike!)

If you will be choosing to go hiking in the Portland or surrounding area, check out Elephants Delicatessen in Portland for the best charcuterie board options…you won’t regret this local favorite. They are located at 115 NW 22nd Ave, Portland, OR 97210. Here's their website: https://www.elephantsdeli.com/

It might look more like a grocery store in the pictures however it's 100% worth the visit!

As for winter gear for your hike below are a few recommendations along with links to my personal favorite items on Amazon!
